Strada Mercur a fost impartita intre St. Pictor Verona si St. Arthur Verona de astazi.
In zona se afla la mijloc de secom XIX, Posta Veche, sau Posta Romaneasca sau de cai. In jur de 1869-70 a fost deschisa Str. Mercur, initial intre Str. Poste Vecge(Str. Nicolae Golescu de astazi) si Str. Pitar Mos. Mai tarziu a fost prelungita pana in Str. Dionisie Lupu de astazi.
